Community Involvement
Working with the community is an important part of our every day business at Trinidad Drilling. Our operations contribute to the economics in the areas where we do business and we are continually looking for ways to work with the community to create a positive, long-lasting difference.
Trinidad supports local sporting activities, youth groups and charities. As part of our commitment to providing a safe working environment Trinidad has been a strong supporter of STARS (Alberta Shock Trauma Air Rescue Society). We have a particular focus on providing education and training that assists First Nations and other local workers gain necessary skills for the oil and gas industry.
Aboriginal Relationships
Trinidad recognizes the importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion. We seek to be an “employer of choice” for Aboriginal talent.
In 2005, Trinidad joined the Aboriginal Human Resource Council of Canada as a member of the Networks of Change to develop and implement the Mastering Aboriginal Inclusion program.
The result of this program helps managers create an inclusive workplace through:
- Accelerated recruitment, retention and advancement of Aboriginal people;
- A workplace culture of equity, respect and cross-cultural sensitivity;
- A rich and consultative relationship with Aboriginal communities;
- A reliance on Aboriginal suppliers and service providers.
In 2005, Trinidad partnered with Métis Nation BC and EnCana in an employment and training initiative. The purpose of the initiative was to recruit and train 100 Métis people for sustainable employment in the oil & gas Industry. The program has been very successful and is progressing well towards meeting its goals.

Patient care and transport, emergency medical communications, education and research, and fundraising and community partnerships are the pillars of the STARS program.
STARS is a non-profit, charitable organization. Our funding needs are met through significant private donations from individuals, services clubs and the business community as well as through collaborative agreements with Alberta Health Services – Calgary and Edmonton regions.
Since it began in 1985, STARS has flown over 17,300 missions.
