Coring and Pre-setting

Trinidad Drilling operates 20 coring and pre-setting rigs under the name Titan, a Trinidad Drilling Company. These rigs provide access to the vast growth of the northern Alberta oil sands. Coring services drill narrow holes into prospective areas to help evaluate and plan underground oil sands extraction programs. Pre-setting uses shallower rigs to drill and cement the first 200 to 300 metres of a new well, reducing the number of days and associated costs the larger drilling rig is required onsite.

Our well-maintained rigs are self moving, quick to rig up and continuously updated with innovative and progressive equipment. When coring, the rigs are able to drill to depths of up to 1,100 metres (3,600 feet) and have a history of providing excellent recovery rates. When pre-setting, the rigs also have a depth capacity of up to 1,100 meters (3,600 feet) and are able to set large diameter casing. Our safety-focused crews are well experienced and have completed coring and pre-setting operations for several major operators in western Canada.
