We have one of the newest, deepest and most technically-advanced fleet of oil and gas drilling rigs in the industry. As the oil and gas industry moves towards deeper and more complex targets, the type of drilling equipment used can make a large difference to the final result. Our customers are increasingly demanding equipment that is capable of this kind of drilling and because Trinidad is one of the industry leaders in developing this type of equipment, we are well positioned to meet our customer’s needs.

Top Drives – Trinidad has developed new top drives that provide increased torque and the ability to perform at higher revolutions per minute, providing improved control and better drilling results. These new top drives are smaller and lighter, making rig moves easier and quicker. They are also created using a simple design; significantly reducing their maintenance and down time requirements.
Automated Cat Walks – Our state-of-the-art cat walk system automates the process of moving drill pipe and other tubulars to and from the drill floor and increases both the efficiency and the safety of the drilling rig.
Drawworks – Trinidad has introduced enhanced AC drawworks to its drilling rigs. This equipment provides superior control, allowing a wide range of operating speeds and using a single speed transmission with less moving parts. All of this is accomplished while incorporating higher horsepower and a smaller footprint.
Proprietary Control System – Trinidad’s in-house rig control system is where the combined benefit of all the individual advancements comes together. This system integrates the different functions of the drilling rig and displays real time, graphical information on the drilling process. It provides the driller with enhanced control, focus and decision making ability, increasing rig safety and efficiency.
Moving systems – Moving systems allow the drilling rig to drill multiple wells from one pad location. The rig simply skids or “walks” between well sites with its equipment still in place. This significantly reduces the time and costs involved in moving a rig. In addition, the moving system extends the drilling season in Canada where weather related interruptions cause limited drilling from April to November each year.
